SOCIALLY OBNOXIOUS PEOPLE

This is going to be one of my most tenacious posts thus far. It's not very often where something gets under my skin (and hopefully I can be candid about it), but this has occurred repeatedly for me in the past couple of weeks. Maybe the LORD is test me. Then again, maybe it just gets on my nerves. I doubt that in writing this, that those who read it will really have an issue with it. But if you are close to those who do, kindly ask them to oblige to normal social standards that the rest of us take on.

Scenario 1 : While Rachel and I were watching the Strangers (see review below) a group of teenagers snuck into the movie (thereby breaking the law) and proceeded to make the movie mostly unenjoyable for everyone else. So much so that at a point, a man dropped a specific four letter word with a consonant at the beginning. You don't go to a scary movie, sneeze randomly, make moments that you pay to watch the movie for and make it a moment where you and your friends can think that in some way make a fool out of yourself is funny (there is a reason why they call them donkeys right?).

Scenario 2: I was at Wal-Mart tonight (and since there are two, I figured this was too much to pass up) and when I went to checkout it was one of those times when someone would very shortly be calling for "extra baggers to check" and would then start calling people by name "Frank to check. Marcy to check." You know the drill. While there, a group of 4 woman decide to be excessively loud. Not just loud, but this whole side of the store hears you loud. And it was socially and culturally humiliating for anyone who would happen to walk by. It was as if they were having a conversation that only they wanted to be included on, but made sure everyone could hear it. And when you happen to look at them, letting them know that you can hear everything they are saying even though they don't want you to and you get that look. No need to describe "that" look. It is pretty self-explanatory.

Scenario 3: This one also occurs in Wal-Mart and at a different point in the line. When I was making my way through the 11:00 cashier disaster, I ran into yet another group of young people who allowed me to dwell in their world. Young person #1 was in my line. Notices young person #2 in the line next to us. Proceeds to talk through and around me (instead of going over there!!!) and then walk around the cart and me to have a conversation. Who does that?!

At first glance, you would get the idea that I don't like people, teenagers or young people. This is absolutely not the case! That couldn't be further from the truth. I do have a problem who consider the world WE live in to be their own for which they can do whatever they want to. And I love the "free country" line. That makes you feel really proud about where that statement has come from. I think we all dwell together, thereby making us in the place to make it as good for everyone around us as possible. Being obnoxious is not good. For those who read this and it gets a little under your skin, sorry. This is more of a vent than a part of my peronality. For those of you who read this and it was you, sorry for being such a burden in the world that you allow me to dwell in. All smiles friends. All smiles.
