INDESCRIBABLE

I was watching a video today by Louie Giglio. He is the founder of the Passion Conferences (infamous for Chris Tomlin, David Crowder Band and Charlie Hall). Sorry about all the hyperlinks. Louie was making the point that the God we serve is indescribable and far beyond any words that we could seek to use to make it all make sense. His premise functioned on a portion of the Bible that states :

Psalm 19:1
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

This is nothing new to me. I've heard the above verse used in many sermons before. There was something about this that stuck out to me though. It was his use of some of the "moon and the stars" that really struck me and how each of them was singing of His glory. Check these out :

Pleiades. Beautiful huh?

Sombrero Galaxy because it looks like a sombrero.

Helix Nebula commonly referred to as the eye of God

Milky Way conceptual shot. We're not in the center but within one of the arms.

When you look at the grandeur of our universe (so much so that we can't see the end, yet somehow we know it's shriking...), you can't help but feel small in comparison to the God who made it. Yet He is mindful of us (listens to us), came to Earth to redeem us (Jesus and the cross) and we will one day rule and reign with Him (Heaven). It is a good day to trust in Jesus.
