TO THOSE THAT THINK THEY KNOW SOMETHING

I've been pondering a verse of Scripture recently that has been having some fun with my soul. Here it is in a couple of versions for you:

1 Corinthians 8:2 (ESV)
2 If anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know.
1 Corinthians 8:2 (Amplified Bible)
2If anyone imagines that he has come to know and understand much [of divine things, without love], he does not yet perceive and recognize and understand as strongly and clearly, nor has he become as intimately acquainted with anything as he ought or as is necessary.
It's amazing what can happen to you when you think you know something. Your perception of people becomes so distorted because you know and "they" don't. Even the Bible speaks of what we already have perceived in the world around us. The moment you think you know, the moment you find that you are far away from even having a clue.
I've been reading a book entitled No Perfect People Allowed and it has had me thinking of a church that was free from the know it alls. A church that was open to everyone, everywhere, anytime. Where all are welcome, but not just by the leaders. The community of people begins to understand that without Jesus we are nothing and apart from Him we really don't know much. It's a simple thought / prayer, but it seems that it changes the world.
