Last night, Rachel and I finished a movie that both of us agreed was one of the best ones we had seen in a long time. The premise of Lars and the Real Girl is going to throw you for a loop. It may even cause you not to want to watch it. Listen to this :

"A delusional young guy strikes up an unconventional relationship with a doll he finds on the Internet."

Starting Ryan Gosling and coming to a theater (now television) near you! However, the way the characters interact and the story progresses, you get the sense that it is teetering between fantasy and reality. It's fantastic. During the movie, Rachel made this statement "It's amazing that you see Christian people being Christian people. You know, accepting him and loving him" (note: this is not a Christian film). I know the premise seems a little wacky but independent films have a way of being ridiculously awesome sometimes and this one does it. Ryan Gosling was nominated for an Oscar for his role so it makes it well worth checking out. This receives my highest recommendation.
