I think there are films that you really love. As you've read below, I really love this one. I think there are films that are also different (notice I didn't say revolutionary, nothing new under the sun right...). Cloverfield has been done before. Spielberg didn't it in limited fashion in Saving Private Ryan. George A. Romero use it exclusively in Diary of the Dead (which having come out before Cloverfield makes it different/revolutionary earlier though not on so wide a release). Cloverfield is great fun! It's like Godzilla with a camera in your hand. J.J. Abrams said that America needs a monster because Japan is still riding the coattails of Godzilla. If they made another Cloverfield, I would be there. If you like action, suspense and monsters in New York, you'll like this one. How cool would it be if they made a Rampage movie though huh?
