WE'RE ALL A LITTLE QUARKY

I'm here in Kaldi's (made the switch from Churchill's since they are going out of business; not quite the same) and in the meeting room is a group of people who could only be perceived as coffee aficionados. The past couple of minutes have been met by them sticking their noses into a pile of beans, taking in the aromas, and then using a spoon to drink the coffee so as not to get too much of one flavor at one time. They then wash off the spoon in a tub of water so as not have mixing tastes.

I think we've all got a little aficionado in us. There is something out there that we all get a little snooty about. For some of us, it's coffee, some it's wine, some it's golf clubs, some it's shoes, some it's pants...and the list goes on and on. You can tell what you're snooty about based on how you analyze said event/activity/item. If it becomes more than just (insert your item here), you've become snooty.

I saw a commercial recently about a new orange juice that is making it's way around the country. It's Tropicana pure valencia. Made from only the best oranges, sliced in the perfect way, you get the idea. When I bought a bottle (you have to see right?!), the instructions on the bottle were much like a bottle of wine. Open, savor, swish, swig, satisfy. Let your life be changed. It seems we all have a snooty part of us (and orange juice isn't mine). Let our snooty continue but hopefully we don't miss out on the magnificence of diving in and seeing what happens. Taking it as it comes and not over-analyzing every moment. This is what allergies and a head cold get you (thank you Missouri!).
