THE CAT CAME BACK...I THOUGHT HE WAS A GONER

This morning I was up and ready at 7:15am. This is something that is commendable considering I was up late with friends and lady friend. I try to be at church by 7:30 on Sunday Morning. With all that needs to be done, it helps me to have all the time I can to be with the students when they come in. This day would not work out like that. As I walked out to my car, I hear from underneath my hood, the already expected "meow." As I walked to the car, it became increasingly loud. I pop the hood and what do I see, a small kitten within my engine. This doesn't equal good for my car, since when I was in grade school I can remember my dad starting his car and having cat and hair all over the engine (thereby ruining the car). Thus I did not start it.
My friend Justin (he's that awesome) was in town and suggested that I just go and see if the cat jumps out along the way. Clever, but no dice. Instead, I grabbed the hose, slacks, shirt and all and sprayed until the cat got out (ORIGINAL EDIT : keep in mind, Justin was doing all the spraying, since I couldn't afford to mess up my fly gear). Half an hour after it all, I was on my way to the church.
Tonight, on my way to take Rachel home, you know what happened?! The cat came back! We watched Fracture (movie review to come) and needed to head home since we were passed our self induced curfew. However, the cat had different plans. Rachel loves animals. As do I. But the second time around, no mercy. She was trying to save it and rescue it, but the cat did not want any of it. So I got the hose. It lost and finally found it's way out of my car (without being caught in it).
There is an old song called The Cat Came Back. The best line about the song, "the cat came back, we thought he was a goner. The cat came back, he just couldn't stay away." It's my song of the day. Pretty fitting huh?
