OLD FRIENDS & FLICKR WOES

I was able to get some photos from the Block Party this last week and am feverishly trying to upload them. I've tried to make them as user friendly as possible, but I can't seem to get the HTML down. Other mediums are being consulted. We'll see how it goes...
I'm waiting in Rendezvous for the leaders to show up (I was an hour early) and decided to kill a little time blogging. This weekend I have had some friends in from out of town (and some future family also, busy times). My friend Justin Mederich, his wife Robyn, and his brother Jordan are in town checking out College of the Ozarks (which Robyn and possibly Jordan will attend in the fall), as well as getting some job and housing stuff set-up. It's really good to see Justin because it brings back a whole flood of memories.
It becomes really easy to be nostalgic with old friends. It seems that you can recall all the good times until the cows come home. The really funny stories, the really sucky stories. The all seem to come together. I think I am more caught up in how quickly time has passed by. Justin is the guy who introduced me to Jesus. If it wasn't for him (and his brother being in a dancing and singing group), we would have missed out on the opportunity to connect and I think I would have been as distanced from Jesus as I was then. Within a couple of months, I was "on the right track" and was getting things together. Now, here we sit over 8 years later and life is still getting "on the right track" and getting things together. He's married. I'm on my way. He's going to finish up school. I'll be starting again (someday...). Life has a way of moving WAY to fast and time flying by. However, here's to the people you can see for a second and pick back up again like you have never been apart. Gotta love em. And for the day, we are going to Bass Pro Shops and Lambert's Cafe (home of the throwed rolls and the food comes at you like a pig trough). Sounds like Springfield, MO to me.
