HAPPY 4th OF JULY

Holidays remembering soldiers and the price of freedom are close to my heart. Military life is truly all that I've known. My dad is over 20 years in. My mom has been a part of civilian service since then. That makes my family close to nearly every conflict that goes on around the world. Whether it was my dad participating in some part of it, or soldiers from my mom's office (10th Special Forces Group) going to places that aren't being talked about on the news, it seems like someone I know is involved in a conflict somewhere. When I think of Independence Day, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson are occasionally on my mind. More frequently though, it is guys (who shall remain nameless) who find themselves detached from their family and friends in defense of our current independence and freedom. Regardless of your stance on international relationships, the hundreds of thousands involved in the Armed Services give us the opportunity to think it and not have it thought for us. Proud to be an American. Proud to be the son of a solider. Proud to be the son of an administrator to soldiers. Hooah!
