I'M OFFICIALLY MEDIA DEPENDENT

I never thought I would come to the place where media was a stranglehold. Matter of fact, I try to flee from the idea. Tonight I've realized something. I'm media dependent. I'd like to consider myself an avid reader. Though George Bush read 100 books last year (and people call him stupid...) and I don't consider myself in his league, I try to read a bunch. A personal goal is 1.5-2 books a month. In keeping with regular readings of Scripture, that turns out to be pretty good. But recently I've gotten away from it. In my efforts to return, it seems I'm met by a daunting foe. I can't seem to read in my house. Everything beckons for my attention. TV. DVR. Blogs (surprised?). Twitter. IM. Phone. Email. Music. The list can go on and on. Everything else is getting a chance. Yet the one thing I really want to do, I can't seem to. Darn you Wipeout (check out ABC)! Most of the music I put at the end of my blogs are efforts to be a really cool music picker, not actual frequents in the library. Chester seemed to get it right on this.
