I know most of you are thinking, why would I review a movie that has been out for so long. Rachel had never seen it and it ranks HIGH on my list. Though I'm not a huge Robin Williams fan, in this movie, I think they made the script just for him. He plays a doctor who think that in order to really treat patients, they should be more than the disease they carry (the best line of the movie). Here's the tagline :

"A medical student in the 70's that treated patients, illegally, using humor."

When I first watched Patch Adams, I think I cried something like four times. Having gone through it a couple of times, it doesn't seem to have the same effect (because I'm such an active crier). It did get Rachel a couple of times. It's great when you can see people respond to other people with a bit of humanity and not responding according to whatever goal they are trying to accomplish. I think it's a GREAT movie for pastors, leaders, church congregations to get a hold of because the end is not the goal. It's the person. I love this movie big time. Check it out!! Philip Seymour Hoffman even has a role. Too good to be true.
