WHO CARES?!

It's interesting the things we care about. It's interesting as you get married the things you didn't think you would care about become strangely important. In merging our lives together, Rachel and I have found moments where we didn't think the other person would care about something as much as they did and the "tension" (though it wasn't confrontational) that came from it. Here are a few things that I found myself caring about (or things I was conditioned differently than Rachel):

  1. Real tree vs fake tree
  2. Pot Roast - 2 packages of Lipton and water vs 1 package Lipton and Cream of Mushroom soup
  3. Where the coffee cups go
  4. Laundry detergent in first vs laundry detergent in last
  5. Surround sound vs no surround sound (guess who that was)
That can be enough for now. No need to air out all the dirty laundry (though this is completely playful and in no ways a digital argument I'm trying to resolve over the internet. That would be petty and childish). I hope the married folks are able to reminisce and have a good laugh and for the non-married folk to hold no sacred cows. Merging lives is merging lives, not adding hers to yours or his to yours. And it's beautiful.
