READ VINTAGE JESUS

The Real Justin Chandler read Vintage Jesus by Mark Driscoll.
Yesterday I finished the book Vintage Jesus by Mark Driscoll. In preparation for a new series we are doing in THEFACTORY, I've been trying to get my hands on as many books on Jesus (most specifically His birth) as I can. With over 17,000 books about Jesus in the Library of Congress, you can see how overwhelming a task it can be.
It's for this reason that I looked through both collegiate seminary theology books and theology books written for everyone. In this case, Vintage Jesus as an entry level theology with each chapter contain Frequently Asked Questions about that specific topic.
What can I appreciate most about Vintage Jesus (and Your Jesus is Too Safe also) is that theology (your understanding of God) should be approachable by all people. If you have an understanding of God, especially as a church leader, you task is to be able to teach and train others within your congregation.
I can remember sitting in my introductory Theology class in college and thinking, every person in the church should know this!! Why should it be exclusive to me [us]?! And it is for this reason that I can appreciate Pastor Mark Driscoll for his work and how he makes understanding Jesus, easy for everyone. Along with his Frequently Asked Questions at the end of the chapter, I again feel even more equipped to lead our upcoming discussion about the Incarnation of Christ. It is going to be a good one. If you are looking to understand Christ more or would like some additional study on aspects of Christ's life, check this one out.
