GOOGLE READER

From time to time, I'm a little slow on the uptake. I can quickly discount something because I don't think it's worth it. However, this blogging thing is catching up to me. LOTS of friends are establishing blogs and you can only have so many toolbars with Live Bookmarks. Ryan Joy told me I should use Google Reader. I didn't agree. I was wrong. Talk about a lifesaver. Now, I don't have to go looking at blogs to find updated content, I can simply hit the reader and it will let me know. Phew!

I do find it interesting when people jump on something because it's new and trendy (or old and trendy). I can't tell you how many people have started a blog, only to post once, signed up with Twitter only to never use it and who buy a Mac to make movies and music. I think we all want to have something "new." We come to harsh realization that new requires us to keep up and do stuff. New extends us past where we were. New is a pain in the butt when it first starts. Then new becomes old. New loses its savvyness and then your digital confessions, activities and indie films become lost in digital oblivion. To those of you that stay on the ball, it's a pleasure to party with you.
